Paris - Day 3

I planned this time in Paris to go at a relaxed pace, maybe 2-3 things a day. The intent was to be home at dark to read, relax and build strength for another day of exploring. The reality was, there is always some cool area we would stumble across, or we wanted to linger a little longer here or there. At the same time, sometimes finding food would take a long time and one planned morning would be whittled down to an hour. Mont Marte was one of those places. We saw the Sacre Coeur, and the girls danced a little to the street music, but we didn't get to wander the streets off the beaten path. Next time.

We made our way toward the Arc de Triumph, down the Champs d'Elysee and toward the Eiffel Tower. We put in a lot of mileage exploring Paris! (And we wondered every day if Parisians ever go to the bathroom, or if they have a secret network of bathrooms for locals only, because we sure couldn't find public toilets easily!)

We picked up some street food, when possible, but it was likely that someone would go hungry when we resorted to this. Street food isn't always gluten and dairy free!

In past visits, during the summer months, the line to the top of the Eiffel Tower was too long, so we had never been. We still had a wait, but it was relatively very short.

We stopped at the lower level on the way down and decided it was a better view (and free), even considering the hike up the stairs, which we did when the girls were young. We're glad we went to the top to know it isn't worth it in the future...

This day, like all others, we tested out Patisseries as we went along. Family favorites include: eclairs (of course), flan, millefeuille, pan au chocolat, and croissants. Adele became fond of macarons this trip, so she had her share of those.
