Adele has a honing instinct to jewelry...
When Adele began not feeling well we asked if she could sit down by these security guys. One gave his seat and, without asking, began to massage Adele's neck, pull her ears out until they popped, and then rigorously vibrate her head while pushing in at different places. Ceci and I looked over and bust out laughing, but a woman nearby said it is something they do in Cambodia for congestion. Not sure it worked, but it was kind of the man to step in and offer his Cambodian services!
My favorite part of the day was taking a tuk tuk to lunch. Traffic is pretty chaotic, although, unlike other countries with wild (yet somehow understood) driving, people don't honk here. I can't believe there aren't more accidents! Most vehicles on the road are "motos", sometimes with a family of five on board!
Pretty much everything is on the back of a moto, from tuk tuks to pig carcasses to wood and banana piles. I love it.
Lunch was difficult for me to get down. I've got some warming up to do with the food here. Pigs on the back of motos and chickens laying out on wooden tables with swarms of flies make it hard to eat meats. And there was a bug in my fancy stack of rice. At home we call that organic. Here I'm not sure "organic" is what we want!
Another great day!
I love the man pulling on Adele's ears! That's something we'll have to remember for future colds. Good luck with the food! Sounds like you'll be eating a lot of bars...need us to send you some?
